single..

Well recently I was riding in my elevator with a guy who I talk to on a semi-regular basis (when we are in the elevator together, or pass on the street) Anyway, he told me about how his girlfriend was moving in with him this weekend. She is coming all the way from California. So you really have to love someone to up and move all the way across the country for them. I have friends that have married guys in the military and moved all over the place, Hawaii, Washington, and even Alaska.. but it just made me think, could I ever do that?

I honestly don't think I could. My family, job, my whole life is here. I cannot even fathom just picking up everything I have and moving for someone.. maybe I'm just too selfish, hence why i'm single..

food..

I think its crap that the worse the food is for you, the cheaper it is..
it takes forever to make a good meal, but not long at all to eat it.. it sucks to pay a lot for a good meal, bc it all comes out the same way.. And the worst thing about cooking is then you just have to clean up!

living alone..

I LOVE living alone.. but it does definitely have it's ups and downs..

Some realizations I've had:
Yep, all those dirty dishes in the sink really are mine

You can't blame the mess on anyone else

Yeah, I guess I really did eat that whole cake..

nobody to split the water/power/rent/cable/internet/phone bill.. the real kicker.

nobody to ask if the 5th outfit you tried on looks better than the 2nd..

gotta move the furniture yourself, or wait for someone willing and able to come over and help..

i am the worst finder ever. I sit stuff down and lose it. I'm SO glad my head, arms and legs are attached.. i'd be a complete mess


But on the bright side:
no body moves your stuff.. I know exactly where my stuff is--under that pile of stuff....

No body eats your food or complains about what you bought.. the salad can turn to mush and nobody complains about it

You can watch whatever you want to on TV, and not get made fun of for watching Willy Wonka for the 523rd time

You can play your jam as loud as you want on repeat for as long as you want to shake
your groove thing.. So what if journey is played out.. its still AWESOME

I can hit snooze in the morning for an hour and a half and there is no one yelling at me about it

Its great to have a dog.. Zoe always listens and NEVER talks back.

Nobody else leaves their crap laying all over the place, or eats your food, or wears your clothes without telling you

You can walk around naked in your house :)

You can get up as early as you want and not worry about waking anybody else up..

You can be as loud as you want as late as you want

you can have whoever you want over, at any time!


In the end.. I think the ups DEFINITELY outweigh the downs..

AND i also wanted to note:
I had the best roommates in the world. I couldn't have asked for any better... the bad things aren't really about roommates I've had, they are about stories I've heard about other people's roommates.. I just wanna say even though they will prob never read it, I love you LT, Katie, and Kayla. You guys couldn't have made any better roommates, especially for me.. I mean, I am an only child after all :) (but not the spoiled kind)

Don't make the same mistake I did...

So.. I learned a crappy, expensive lesson.

If you ever get laid off (God forbid) then run (yes, run as in don't walk) to the department of labor. I know what you're thinking--"oh, I'll get around to that later" or "I'll do it next week," or "maybe tomorrow.."

No, it can't wait. Regardless of what you think getting that unemployment check is a must--hello free money! I know it's not much, but its WAY better than $0. Which is basically what I got almost my WHOLE TERM of unemployment. So, I didn't know this tidbit of information that I am telling you. I know now. My sad story follows..

So, the weekend of Labor day I got laid off. Yeah, why not give someone the boot right before a holiday.. great idea. Anyway. So, I waited around for about 4 weeks before I went to file for my unemployment, like I said earlier, I thought it was retroactive. Well, I got a job my 4th week with no job... not as long of a break as I would have liked especially in summer.. but thats a whole other story.. ANYWAY... when i got the job, I was like.. man, i guess i should go file for some unemployment money while i have some spare time.. so i did, then I got hit with the -- "Your unemployment check begins from the day you file a claim" Damnit.

I hope you all never get laid off any job, but if you do. RUN to the dept. of labor. Get your free money.

But at least i got another job :)

Tooth.

I am mourning the loss of my tooth. Number 2 to be exact. I am unsure of the exact date of passing, but I am sure it was deceased last Friday.

I had a tooth ache all last week, now I know it was my tooth, dying. Finally after I couldn't take anymore, I went to the dentist. **Side note If you know me, you know this is something that I hate more than most anything else** So, I had to have some x-rays done, and come to find out my tooth (actually only one nerve in my tooth, but what's the fun in that?) had died. AND if that's not bad enough, I now have to have a root canal.

I guess the root canal is kinda like my tooth's funeral. Its really expensive, and one it's finished it will be tucked in the back of my mouth and no one will be able to see the nice new crown it gets.

UGH.

Thanks dad for my crappy teeth.

The List..

I was recently reading an article in some magazine, about how we optimists are always being disappointed by things. When you always look for the bright side in everything, lets face it.. you are setting yourself up for disappointment.. But that's why we should all come up with our own 'list' of things, people, places, etc.. that never disappoint.
So I figured I should prob come up with my own 'list' so that when I get disappointed, I will know where I can turn :)

.Mall-There is just something about retail therapy that never lets me down
.Orbit gum - Mint Mojito. I just love it.
.Shoes, to be specific my gray high heels, i just love them - remember, no matter how fat or skinny you get, shoes will always fit
.Zoe - She always loves me no matter what, she always listens to me, never talks back or complains, and she is always there
.80s music - no matter what, it just makes me happier
.LT - I love friends that don't take work to have, she is just so light hearted, she always can make me laugh, just love her.
.Lillie - If I ever need to talk about anything, she is there. We have the best talks ever, she prob knows WAY too much about me
.Katie - She will always be there through thick and thin and I know that..
.Running - Even thought I don't do it as much as I should, it makes me feel better about myself
.Family - they are my rock, always there for me
.Dancing by myself - Who doesn't love to boogy

Gorilla art?

Ok, seriously.

I get millions of newsletters and things but this really stands out. Apparently art has gone to a new level. Gorilla level. The two gorillas, Koko and Michael, in Cali. have begun to do their own paintings, and some genius decided to make digital reproductions (a limited number, of course) for people with WAY too much money to buy.

As if that's not enough, they also let the gorillas name the paintings.. things such as "Pink, Pink, Stink, Nice Drink" and "Stink Gorilla More." No, I'm not kidding.

This is taken straight from the newsletter, I think it's hilarious..
